Sonoma County Wedding Venues
Picking the perfect place for your wedding location is the beginning of the exciting planning you are starting most likely just starting to organize. Picking the location is nearly always the first step in the success of your big day. Sonoma County is abundant with spectacular locations that are great for pictures with surroundings and views you will remember forever in your wedding photos. Are you looking for small and intimate or are you inviting 300 people? There are venues that will accommodate many sizes of gatherings and are some of the world’s most famous locations for events..let’s look at a few. These are my highlights because I have been to them and know they are lovely.
Vintners Resort – Santa Rosa
In Sonoma County’s this is one of the prime locations and easy to get to and the food is to die for! Whether you are planning a wedding for a few hundred people or an intimate occasion for a select few the Vintners Resort can accommodate you. Set in a romantic wine country resort you will delight in the stunning vineyard views, flawless lawns, and flower gardens. Never to disappoint the award-winning cuisine from the nationally-acclaimed John Ash & Co. restaurant will top of your special day. I have been here for many an event as well as just for dinner and I remember the meal for months afterward.
Situated on 92 acres of vineyards in Sonoma County the Events Center boasts a spectacular 35-foot bell tower entrance and fountain with walls of windows and beautiful exquisite décor with outdoor details like terraces and perfectly landscaped gardens. I always admire the bunches of flowers in the garden topped with an outdoor fireplace and when you are in wine country at any time of the year have in a fireplace to gather around later in the day is fantastic. You can choose between one of the Wedding Pavilions overlooking the vineyards or have you wedding indoors with a lit beamed ceiling and a stone alcove which I love for weddings held at any time of the day.
Go here, walk around and see what I mean… I am thinking it’ll be on your top three locations list.
Inn at the Tides
A wedding on the water? You cannot beat it. I love this place. Its rugged but so great because it is on the water! Picture that sunset wedding..that picture of you both right at sunset! Yes this is the spot for that! The Inn at the Tides is the ideal Sonoma County Coast location for intimate weddings with the area’s most spectacular views. I have been to several events here and always love it. The surroundings are more casual, but with great flowers and the view it’s a location to remember. The food was excellent. An ocean wedding is great..take a drive and see what I mean.
Chateau St. Jean
Set smack dab in the middle of the Sonoma Valley Chateau St. Jean is the perfect wedding venue for anyone dreaming of the wedding setting right out of a magazine with the beautifully landscaped grounds and historic chateau . Romantic comes to mind when I think of this setting. That Sonoma County wedding dream comes true here at Chateau St. Jean.

Experience the gracious hospitality of Chateau St. Jean and the professionalism and expertise of our events team. Allow our event consultant to help you customize your dream event.
Kenwood Inn & Spa
I haven’t been here for a wedding but I have had many meals here and think it is one of the most delicious places to eat in Sonoma County and talk about cute cozy and romantic, well this is it! The Mediterranean-style villa and gardens are set in the famous countryside setting in the Sonoma Valley. I love this place so much, especially for small gatherings. Are you picturing a more rustic kind of wedding location? Not too fancy, not too much… this is a great place. Old and so Sonoma County the location for guests to stay and for a great wedding day is great. Love it. There is no Chateau but it’s right down the road from Jack London’s Wolf House! .. it’s rustic adventurous! I love weddings in rustic locations. There is something about adding the flowers and the beauty of the bride and the families gathering that make it extra unique and fun and memorable. Surrounded by the scenic hills and vineyards of the “Valley of the Moon,” the Jack London Lodge is the picture-perfect destination for your wedding, reception, or rehearsal dinner for up to 150 guests. MacArthur Place Inn & Spa
MacArthur Place had whole new ownership in the last few years and they gave it more of a glam, modern country theme. I still love it. Gone is the western theme that was delightful for 15 years. The whole place is really cute. Now it is grown up and lush and green and the bungalows are amazing to stay in and the dining room has proven once again to be delicious. The last time I enjoyed MacArthur Place was for a Thanksgiving dinner and it was fantastic. It is great because it is close to the downtown with easy access to wine tasting and other things you might want to do if you are coming to a wedding in Sonoma County. They have a great room for a wedding and the gardens are amazing too.
MacArthur Place is just short of an hour from San Francisco with 64-elegant rooms and suites. They have a spa to enjoy during your stay. Love this place too.. go check it out!

Rustic Charm comes again… I think it’s a common theme in Sonoma County. I have been to many events up here and a few weddings and I love it too. It is about 1 hour and 30 minutes North of San Francisco. Located in the heart of wine country with great old historic buildings this wedding site can accommodate groups from 20 to 500 people. As you drive up Atop Fitch Mountain in Healdsburg CA, Villa Chanticleer you will enjoy the panoramic views of Northern California’s famed wine country. This place gives you the quintessential wine country experience as you are surrounded by beautiful old-growth oaks and Redwood groves. Villa Chanticleer has a rich history dating back to 1910, giving it its lovely charm. It can be hot in the summer! So plan accordingly!
