You can go to a farm to pick up fresh veggies, do a quick Target run, see some art from Burning Man, and go to the symphony all in the same day. Petaluma is biking, hiking, and paddling. Petaluma is arts, music, shopping, local food, and craft beverages. This is a place that celebrates family and cultural diversity. Petaluma College Neighborhood

When friends visit you here there are endless things to do...

Anchored by the Petaluma Marina and the Sheraton Hotel, the Marina District contains some of Petaluma’s most successful businesses. Shollenberger Park connects the Marina to trails that extend southward through miles of scenic river marshland. Look out for birdwatchers! Other amenities in the district include upscale condominiums and apartments that round out Petaluma’s housing options.

  • Shollenberger Park is a 165-acre wetlands and wildlife sanctuary bordering the Petaluma River. It’s a bird watcher’s paradise; over 200 species of birds have been identified in the nine distinct habitats. The two mile circular trail – leased dogs are welcome – makes it a favorite with local walkers.
  • The Petaluma River – actually a tidal slough – is a sea of activity. The river recreation experts at Clavey Paddlesports and Petaluma Stand Up Paddle can get you out on the river in no time.
  • Let your dogs run free and off leash at Rocky Memorial Dog Park, almost eight acres of doggie heaven.
  • The Sheraton Sonoma County – Petaluma overlooks the river and marina. Enjoy a cocktail with a river view at Tolay Lounge.
